A computer programmer since the age of 13 who began writing technical books in his teens, Tim's vision for software led him to found Prophet in 1992, a web-based technical analysis company consistently named the #1 website for technical analysis by Barron’s and Forbes. He later served as Senior Vice President of Technology for Investools and led digital trading platforms at Montgomery Securities.

 

For over two decades, Tim has maintained Slope of Hope, publishing more than 35,000 posts, and hosts Trading Charts with Tim Knight on the tastytrade network, on which he was a founding broadcaster. Today, he channels his lifelong immersion in technology and market mechanics into gripping fiction, starting with his debut techno-thriller, Solid State.

 

When he isn’t tracking the markets or writing, Tim lives in Palo Alto with his family, a bevy of egg-laying hens, a pond full of fish, nine thousand honeybees, and two dogs. He is also prone to bursting into song from a vast repertoire of Broadway musicals, regardless of who is listening.
